This review of recent literature on climate change adaptation and emergency management is a background document supporting the updating of the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Plan for Emergency Management. The objective of the Emergency Management NARP is to identify priority research to enhance community and organisational resilience to the risks posed by climate change from the perspective of emergency management.

This review provides a brief commentary and recent literature for each of these areas and where appropriate for the specific research questions within each theme. Note that the update is indicative rather than comprehensive, and that it has benefitted from suggestions made during the consultation for the revision and update of the NARP.
