Open Licensing

Terra Nova encourages the sharing of data and knowledge for the long-term benefit of the climate change adaptation research and planning communities. Content sharing should only occur within a framework where contributors receive appropriate recognition for their work, and where content users understand, in advance, the responsibilities placed upon them when they access and/or use another’s content.
Terra Nova encourages data custodians to apply the least restrictive licence/terms of use possible to content made available through Terra Nova. Where copyright subsists in the content being published, Terra Nova recommends the use of the AusGOAL suite of licences.
Facilities and content custodians will need to consider their own specific circumstances, including any organisational requirements, if/when selecting a licence to apply to published content.
