This project sought to develop and trial a process to help regional natural resource management (NRM) organisations plan responses to the challenges of climate change based on the simple idea that not all adaptation decisions have to be made in the next planning cycle. In particular, decisions and actions can be staged over time in a way that is responsive to experienced environmental change, risks, information, values and other societal factors. And critically, some strategic near-term decisions may make later difficult adaptation decisions easier to implement in a timely manner.
